Matosinhos: enjoy the city’s restaurants during the lockdown

The municipality of Matosinhos is widely known as the land of the best fish, but not only fish. Taking into account the situation of the Restaurant sector, greatly affected by the general confinement, the Municipality of Matosinhos decided to help.

In an initiative launched in the 2020 lockdown, Matosinhos created the Matosinhos.come – Take Away program, which supports the costs of the delivery service of meals from local restaurants. In this new 2021 lockdown, the municipal entity extended its support to restaurants that joined the “Matosinhos.come” project, offering free universal packaging to restaurants.

This measure aims to encourage consumption through the take-away / delivery service, supporting the costs of both meal packaging and delivery service.

The free delivery service is provided by MATOCOOPER- Taxi Cooperative of the Municipality of Matosinhos. If you want to order dinner from one of your favourite restaurants, just contact the restaurant and place your order (minimum 5 euros). Payment will be made directly to the restaurant through digital means or in cash, which will be delivered to the taxi driver.

In this way, customers can continue to enjoy the best of Matosinhos gastronomy at home and take a vacation from the kitchen.
