What to do in Matosinhos this Fall

Fall is the favorite season for many people. The weather starts to cool down, the first rains fall, but there are still many good days left for outdoor activities. Despite the grayer days, the trees fill with new colors and the streets begin to prepare for the festive season ahead.

As we often argue, Matosinhos is much more than a summer destination, so today our suggestions are activities to do in Matosinhos during the fall.

Stroll and pick up leaves at the City Park

The City Park of Porto is the largest urban park in the country, it has 83 hectares, about 10 km of paths, several lakes, varied flora and fauna. It is the ideal place to take a walk with your children and promote some games, such as challenging them to pick the most beautiful leaves they find falling. If you don’t have children, this park is still an excellent option for a walk.

Visit Super Bock Casa da Cerveja

When the weather is not favorable for outdoor programs, you can visit the Super Bock Casa da Cerveja. This is an interactive museum dedicated to beer, located in Unicer’s facilities in Leça do Balio. A different program, ideal for beer lovers.

Get to know SEA LIFE Porto

We also suggest a family visit to SEA LIFE Porto, a public access aquarium located in Porto City Park, near Praça de Gonçalves Zarco. There live about 3000 sea creatures from more than a hundred different species. If you have small children they will love this program.

Eat a Neapolitan pizza

If you are a pizza lover, you can’t miss trying the pizzas from Antonio Mezzero’s eponymous restaurant, which in 2018 won the title of Neapolitan pizza world champion in the Caputo Trophy. At the restaurant in Matosinhos, the pizzas are made as tradition dictates, with the signature pizzas being the stars of the menu.
